The LJLD committee elect new members to vacant committee positions each year, around Christmas, with the current committee members joining the team at our Christmas Cocktails event in 2008.

LJLD expects all committee members to attend monthly meetings as well as all events, show enthusiasm and a commitment to support LJLD's members to the best of their ability.
LJLD aims to:
- promote the interests of our members on a local and national level;
- to provide support and educational or career-enhancing events;
- to promote networking and socialising among our members.
After training at Nelsons, Rik is now a qualified
solicitor with Nelsons specialising in Corporate Law in their
Leicester office.
Rik was previously the publicity officer for LJLD but has now taken over the reins from Lewis as president.
In his spare time, Rik is trying desperately to learn how to swing a golf club and to snowboard!
Emma is currently working as a fee earner in the Commerical
Property department at Harvey Ingram LLP.
She joined the LJLD committee last year as part of the events sub committee before moving to treasurer/secretary in January 2010.
Emma has recently taken up running and managed to run (with a little bit of walking at the end!) the Leicester Half Marathon in October last year.
Former TV Presenter Sundip from Cartwright King Solicitors
is now the National Rep for the LJLD. Sundip represents LJLD on
the national committee, and relays information back
to the committee and membership.
Sundip is passionate about his interest in politics and current affairs, and is involved with a number of local and national organisations. Sundip also administers the LJLD facebook group.
This year Victoria has resumed her previous role as LJLDs local
law society representative. In 2009 Victoria was elected
President, and previously was a social secretary then vice-
president of Leicestershire TSG.
Victoria is a qualified solicitor with Weightmans LLP specialising in workplace violence claims.
Victoria was Leicestershire Law Society's Trainee of the Year in 2007, and runner up Young Solicitor of the year in 2009.
James has lived in Leicester all his life and went to Leicester University.
He is a keen sportsman and enjoys playing football, cricket, golf and going running when he finds the time!
James is a second year trainee at Harvey Ingram.
Rahul is a recently qualified solicitor who trained at
Wilson Browne and has recently taken up the role of publicity officer.
You may remember Rahul as the compare (and raffle prize!) at our very first event - the Trial by Triva quiz. Rahul previously worked with Katherine as one of our social secretaries, and last year was our secretary/treasurer.

Fulfilling various important roles such as secretary, vice-president and president of the group, Lewis has sadly had to leave us to work in Huddersfield. We wish him all the best in his future career & thank him for all his hard work.
LJLD's President in its first year, Victoria did a fantastic job at guiding the committee through a sometimes difficult and tense first year, and we thank her for all her help.
Previously a National Rep for LTSG & LJLD, we appreciate Clare's commitment & energy and hope she stays involved despite not being an active part of the committee this year.
Previously head of the social sub-comittee, Katherine is responsible for many of the social events that we have brought you in the past 2 years. Katherine has now moved outside of Leicester and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
