Shelter

Our very first event on 28 February 2008 was Trial by Trivia: the annual legal sector quiz for Shelter.

Shelter assists the homeless and vulnerably housed, campaigns for decent housing for all and provides accessible housing advice and information via their website.

We are proud to say that in 2009 we raised an impressive, credit crunch busting GBP740.50! Many thanks to all who attended and who bought raffle tickets.

Trial by Trivia is an annual LJLD tradition, so keep an eye on your inbox for more information!

Leicester Kidney Patients Association

The LKPA is a self-governing body, and is essentially a charity raising money for people who suffer from kidney failure. Their activities include hosting events for people who need support due to kidney failure and providing training and seminars for people on dialysis. At the heart of their work is supporting dialysis patients and making it easier for them and their families.

LKPA is LJLD's charity for our annual ball 2009.

The AHS Foundation

The AHS Foundation is a small scale charity with low overheads (therefore maximum funds go to the beneficiaries) that operates from the UK, but was formed to assist the people of Pakistan who were affected by the devastating earthquake of 2005.

The charity has built schools, and hospitals and provided access to clean drinking water and medical care. The LJLD Committee would like to thank all members who attended and wishes the AHS Foundation all the very best in their future projects.
