He was formerly events co-ordinator and Vice-President of the LJLD, before taking up the mantle of President in 2011. In his spare time, he is the captain of his local cricket team and enjoys long distance running. He is also a keen supporter of Tottenham Hotspurs FC.

Sundip is the Vice President of the LJLD and supports James in his role leading the committee. Sundip has previously held the posts of Social Media & Website Officer and National JLD Committee representative.He trained with Cartwright King solicitors at their Nottingham office. Sundip is now a Labour Councillor on Leicester City Council and involved with a number of other organisations, including the Leicestershire Police Authority.

Hannah studied English Literature at the University of East Anglia in Norwich before returning to Leicester to study the GDL and LPC at De Montfort University. Hannah is now a trainee solicitor at Spearing Waite LLP. In her spare time, Hannah’s main interest is music and playing the saxophone. She also enjoys running and going to the gym.

Iwan is a solicitor in the Trusts and Probate team at Harvey Ingram LLP. Iwan grew up in North Wales, studied law at Durham University and completed the LPC at the College of Law, Chester. Having moved to Leicester in 2010, he has been hugely impressed by the excellent opportunities for education, socialising and networking offered by the LJLD. He is delighted to have been elected as the Local Law Society Representative for LJLD this year, and is looking forward to ensuring that the group’s voice is properly represented at Leicestershire Law Society meetings.In his spare time, Iwan is ‘sports mad’ and a Liverpool FC season ticket holder. He also enjoys travelling and socialising.

In her spare time, Kirstie enjoys keeping fit, especially taking long walks and going running.

Sam is a Solicitor at North West Leicestershire District Council in Coalville. Sam trained at Howes Percival and is an alumni of both of Leicester’s universities and still works closely with DMU. Sam operates our Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn sites as well as administering our website. In his role as National Representative, Sam represents the interests of our local members at the national committee of the Junior Lawyers Division
Outside of work and the LJLD, Sam enjoys cooking, weekends away and swimming.

Name: Philippa Crane

Philippa joined the LJLD committee in 2011 as the Leicester Law Society Representative. She is currently training in the civil litigation department at Crane & Walton, having completed her first six months training in commercial property.In her spare time, Philippa enjoys horse riding, cycling and going to the theatre.


Name: Natasha Sond

Natasha is a Trainee Solicitor at Thaliwal Bridge Solicitors, specialising in Mental Health Law. She has always had a passion for this area of law and worked as a mental health support worker on psychiatric wards in Leicester whilst completing her LPC at DeMontfort University. She achieved a black belt in Wado-Ryu Karate at 18 years of age and continues to train at a local martial arts class in Leicester.
Natasha is the Events and Welfare Officer: a suitable role given her experience in helping to coordinate various charity events over the last few years.
